My first crafting project

I can’t stop talking about how much I love Pinterest. I’ve found so many great recipes and crafting ideas on there! I wanted to give a homemade gift to my wonderful Thanksgiving hostess, but I had no clue what to make. Pinterest, to the rescue! I came across an easy-to-make lemon sugar scrub from Stephanie’s blog – Under The Table and Dreaming. 3 ingredients is all you need to make a 16 oz. jar of the scrub (The original recipe stated that the mix would fill a 12 oz. mason jar, so if you use that size, there will probably be some left over for yourself). I’m planning on making more for a few family members for Christmas presents.

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup extra virgin olive oil
4 Tbsp lemon juice
Directions

1. Mix sugar and olive oil together in a large bowl.

2. Add lemon juice to the mixture and stir until a gritty paste forms.

3. Spoon into a mason jar or other glass container of your choosing.

4. I added a decorative ribbon around the top of the jar to dress it up a little bit.
I also slapped a label on top so the recipient would know what was inside.

That's am awesome idea. I know you mentioned making a bunch for gifts. I use organic sugar for everything since its vegan and it's much cheaper to buy it at a warehouse store like Costco. I get a 10# bag for about $9. 🙂

Thanks ladies! Megan – I ended up buying just a regular bag of sugar from the store the other day to make the Christmas gifts. Only ended up using the organic sugar for the Thanksgiving present because it was the only bag I had on hand!

Ha…I just posted a sugar scrub recipe on my blog a couple hours ago! That must be the new thing! I didn't think of lemon though…sounds like a great idea! I really want some now. (Your packaging looks lovely, by the way!)
